Race Descriptions

The Swamp Rabbit Marathon is an OUT AND BACK race from Greenville's Fluor Field to Travelers Rest. The race passes through Furman University and our beautiful downtown neighborhood on the back.

This year's event will start considerably earlier than previous marathon starts. The 6:15 a.m. start will be an hour and a half before the 7:45 sunrise. If you would feel more comfortable wearing a head lamp, please bring your own.  The first half of the race is almost entirely on paved trails with no traffic to contend with.

The Neighborhood course is back! After a one year "vacation", we're bringing back the HM course from 2016 and 2017 . Hundreds of Spinx Run Fest Fans will be in force to cheer you on. The course goes through downtown Greenville, historic districts, and city parks. The course showcases scenic parts of downtown, City parks and local favorite running routes, making for an exhilarating run.

The Greenville Downtown 10K follows the same course as the Run Town USA Half Marathon, except we sliced off 6 of the hardest miles of the HM resulting in a 10K course with fewer turns and hills and surprisingly fast. If you're a 10Ker, this race is the perfect choice!

The Big Punkin 5K is back using the flat and fast northwest loop that takes runners down Main Street, left on River Street, left on W. Broad Street, left on W. Washington Street, left on Hudson Street, left on the Swamp Rabbit Trail, right on Reedy View Drive, right on River Street, right on Main Street and back to the stadium. Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite Halloween getup. After all, that's why we call it the Big Punkin 5K!

Spunky's Kids Run is designed for young runners  - 12 and under. The course is roughly 1 mile long and takes runners around the outside of the stadium before entering the stadium for a loop around the warning track to an exciting finish in front of the third base dugout. This year's run is not timed. We are looking forward to seeing Greenville's future running stars!
